Common issues and solutions
Shared Link Not Working
Verify Sharing is Enabled
Open transcription → Share button → Ensure "Enable public sharing" is ON
Check Link Was Copied Correctly
Entire URL must be copied, including https://. Use "Copy Link" button instead of manual copy.
Recipient Must Be Logged In
Shared transcriptions require the recipient to have an account and be logged in.
Generate New Link
If link still doesn't work, click "Copy Link" again to generate a fresh URL.
Error: "Access Denied" When Opening Shared Link
Make Sure You're Logged In
Shared transcriptions require authentication. Create a free account or log in.
Owner May Have Disabled Sharing
The person who shared it may have turned off sharing. Ask them to re-enable it.
Owner May Have Deleted It
If transcription was deleted, the share link becomes invalid.
Want to Stop Sharing
Disable Public Sharing
Open transcription → Share button → Turn OFF "Enable public sharing"
Link Becomes Invalid Immediately
Anyone with the old link will get "Access Denied" error.
Recipient Can't Edit Shared Transcription
Read-Only Access
Recipients can view and copy text but cannot edit. This is by design for security.
Solution: Export and Share File
Export as DOCX or TXT, share the file via email/Drive so recipient can edit their copy.
